In one week the main hospital in Kirkuk, northern Iraq received 52 killed and 63 injured as a result of landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO).
The real figures are likely to be much higher as many deaths are not recorded and there is no death registration system.
Landmine Action is calling for international laws to require warmongers to clean up their mess after they're finished. You can

clearup.org, although I don't see what making laws is going to do if the people responsible feel they're above the law.
But at least they're trying.
